Create a New System

POPs represent the servers for your data; systems represent the data containers. Systems can be accounts, drives, buckets, or namespaces. Systems are children of POPs, so you must create a POP before you can create a system.

Creating a New System

Go to the CFP Dashboard. Select the POP that needs a system by clicking on it in the Sources and Targets pane, and then selecting the View button from the popover balloon.

The POP modal window displays. Select the New System button from the System bar at the bottom of the window.

The Type dropdown displays in the System Settings pane on the right. Select the type of System you want.

Once you select a system type, a Nickname field and additional elements specific to that type will display. In the example below, you must click the Log In button to provide your account credentials.  When the credentials have been entered successfully, you will return to this modal.

NOTE:  If you are currently logged into your cloud service provider’s account, those credentials will be automatically used to authorize your account because they are cached in the browser. If you want a different set of credentials, create a new tab in your browswer and log into your account with the new credentials that you want. Those new credentials will be cached and used to create the oauth for your system.

When you have completed the system fields, select the Done button to save the system.

If the system is fully connected, it will display as a green square in the system bar after it is saved. If it is not fully configured or is not connected for some other reason, it will display as an orange square.

Delegate Switch Accounts to an Admin:  Delegated oauth is a mechanism by which a user can create admin systems in CFP when they don’t have direct access to global admin credentials. Delegated oauth is available for adapters that use oauth authentication, including OneDrive, Sharepoint Online, and Box. It is not available for adapters that do not use oauth, such as Google Drive and Amazon S3. Delegated oauth is used instead of the standard login procedure, so you don’t need to enter any credentials via the Login button. A delegate URL string is valid for 24 hours.

Delegated oauth generates a URL string, which you send to the global admin for the account. The global admin simply pastes it into a browser and follows a quick set of prompts to validate the system.  As soon as the global admin completes this, the system will be authenticated in CFP.

Delete System button will also be present if the current system is not part of any Jobs.

Editing and Deleting Systems

From the Dashboard, select the parent POP for the system you want to edit from the Sources and Targets pane.  Select the View button from the popover balloon.

The POP modal window displays. At the bottom of this window is a system bar, which contains all of the systems for that POP. Select the system you want to edit. Its configuration displays at the right side of the window.

You can edit the fields in the system’s configuration and it will automatically save these changes. System Type is not editable. Select Done to return to POP modal.

The Delete System button will be displayed if the system is not in any jobs. If you want to delete a system, you must first delete it from all of the jobs that contain it.
