Leadership

Gant Redmon, CEO

Gant Redmon is an accomplished senior executive with extensive experience building and leading companies in high growth markets. Gant joined Tervela from IBM. Gant came to IBM through its acquisition of Resilient Systems where Gant was a part of the original management team that grew the company from 6 to 165 employees in four years before Resilient became a part of IBM’s Security group.

Prior to IBM-Resilient, Gant was on the management team of Arbor Networks that was acquired by the Danaher Corporation. Gant also served at Authentica that was acquired by EMC and AXENT Technologies that was acquired by Symantec. He has deep knowledge in cloud platforms, security and privacy. In 1997, he was appointed membership on the President Clinton’s Export Counsel Subcommittee on Encryption (PECSENC). Gant received his JD from Wake Forest University and his BA from the University of Virginia.

Kevin Day, Vice President of Engineering

Kevin Day has two decades of experience building high performance software and hardware and has been with Tervela since 2006. He brings a passion for technology and a pragmatic and agile product development approach to his role leading Tervela’s engineering team.

Kevin’s background is in systems programming, specifically in networking protocols, operating systems, and multicore CPUs, but he is also a big fan of dynamic languages, and will be happy if he never hand-disassembles a memory dump again. Kevin studied Computer Science at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Pierre Fraval, Vice President of Product and Customer Solutions

Pierre Fraval brings 15 years of high-performance real-time distributed systems experience in the networking industry to his leadership role at Tervela. Pierre joined Tervela in 2005 as a founding team member. For the past 6 years, Pierre led product architecture as Tervela’s Chief Architect. He now leads pre-sales, post-sales and customer support functions.

Prior to Tervela, he held key engineering roles at several early stage startups including RouteScience, a leader in hardware and software application acceleration and route optimization technology, which was acquired by Avaya. At MATRAnet (acquired by EADS Telecom), Pierre designed, built and deployed firewall, IPsec VPN and IDS network security products. He started his software engineering career at Hewlett-Packard in the Enterprise Networking & Security business unit. Pierre graduated from the National School of Advanced Technologies (ENSTA) in Paris, France.

Susan Maranno, Corporate Controller

Susan Marrano joined Tervela in May of 2008 and is responsible for overseeing the finance and accounting, legal and human resources functions of Tervela. Susan brings more than 20 years of operational and consulting experience to Tervela beginning her career with Data General, McCormack and Dodge and privately owned Microsystems Software, creator of Cyber Patrol, where she oversaw operations and the sale of the company to the Learning Company.

Susan consulted in her own practice for ten years and held the interim role of CFO and VP of Finance for several public and private high technology companies in Massachusetts. Susan received her B.A from the University of Massachusetts and attended graduate studies at Northeastern University. She is a member of the University of Massachusetts Entrepreneurial Advisory Board.
